Reed plants or vegetation that has the Latin name is a kind of grass Imperata cylindrical sharp leaves. This plant is often a weed in agricultural land. Although disrupt agricultural crops, but it seems this plant should not necessarily be underestimated especially by removing or destroying granted.
According to some studies reeds contain chemical elements that are useful for health such as mannitol, glucose, sakharosa, malic acid, citric acid, coixol, anindom and many others. Traditionally used to help tackle high blood pressure, headache, hepatitis, blood booster, neuropathy, laxative urine, blood urine, gonorrhea, and kidney disease.
Research on grass
Jaya Anthony Satrya of the Faculty of Pharmacy Airlangga University conducted a study to determine the effects of antipyretic (fever reliever) infusion reed stems on white mice. The results showed that the infusion of stem reeds concentration of 5%, 10%, and 20% had an antipyretic effect. Infusion rod reed strongest concentration of 20% effect.
